After more than 20 years together Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith no longer consider using the labels of husband and wife with each other necessary. As a matter of fact, the two celebrities contend to use the label “life partners.”
When invited as a guest on “Tidal’s Rap Radar Podcast,” July 5, 2018, Smith had opened up about his relationship with Pinkett Smith in a lifelong partnership. Confident in their comfortable relationship with each other, Will explains:
There are no deal breakers. There’s nothing she could do — ever. She has my support till death.
To get his point across their devotion to each other, his new song “In the Clique” was released in May. The lyrics tell listeners to “stop the divorce rumors and mind your damn business.”
Pinkett Smith also addressed numerous rumors about splitting up while on “Sway in The Morning” weeks earlier. The rumors had become so persistent that she decided to take action and try to dispel them in person and on social media.
She spoke on her marriage declaring that her partner could rely on her without any hesitation, similar to how she could rely on him, and the idea of the roles that come with husband and wife do not matter.
The two celebrities have been married 21 years. By dropping the term “married” the couple has received an overall cheer from fans at the devotion shown that is shared between the two. Although, realistically he admits that the relationship did not start the same way it is now, in 2016 he reported that they went through a lot of counseling in order to move forward in their relationship.
He has a 25-years-old child from a previous marriage. Occasionally, the internet will post rumors and questions about whether or not he would be able to hold together this marriage longer the previous one with Sheree Zampino.
The Smiths married in December 1997. They successfully raised their biological children, Jaden and Willow.
In face of rumors and questions, the couple is adamant about the fact that they will not be getting a divorce and have each other’s backs for life. Smith said he could never be happier than in this time and space with his life partner and family, with no titles and no assigned labels.
