Did anyone know Tinley Park is the closest waterpark to the Chicago Land area? Parks like a Coral Cove, Hurricane Harbor, and more are far from Chicago. Those are closer to the white community.

Some may feel offended because if its the summer some people might want to go to a water park like Coral Cove because it is a great water park. Still, it is just too far for them to go. It is just not fair to the Black people because how are they going to get there even if they have a car it is still too far for them to get there.

This columnist thinks people should be equal because it is the right thing, not the wrong thing because even though this is the United States people can use freedom of speech. However, that does not mean people should not be equal and come together as Blacks and whites cause nobody wants to feel like they have to go all the way to the suburbs so people can go to a waterpark on a good day.

Nobody should have to worry about that. It is not fair that they do not have a lot of waterparks in Chicago for kids of color. People should be more aware some people do not have the wealth or the money to drive to water parks.

If people would like to know where some of the best waterparks are here is a list.

  • Splash Country: An adultĀ one-day ticket costs $54.95
  • Coral Cove: $15 in advance and $25 at the door
  • Hurricane Harbour: One day ticket cost $39.95
  • White Water Canyon Park: Residents of the Tinley Park-Park District: $10 ($5 after 5:00 p.m.) – ($5 after 4:00 p.m. starting August 16th)
    Non-resident: $20 all-day
  • Splash country costs: one-day tickets for visitors aged 10 to 61 cost $49.95 (plus tax); two-day passes set people back $69.95, and three-day passes $79.95.
