Daytime television host Wendy Williams is halting production of her “COVID-19 Stay-At-Home Quarantine” episodes until she can film from her studio. Williams says she needs time off to recover until her studio reopens.

There are several possible reasons why this could be.

One could be for health reasons. Williams sufferers from Grave’s disease, an autoimmune disorder that affects the thyroid, which causes her exhaustion. She also has related hyperthyroidism.

The condition causes swelling in the arms and legs, and requires a special machine to help with the symptoms.  Health reasons are an excellent reason for Williams needing time off to recover until her studio reopens

If her condition is acting up, it is possible she needs the spare time to recover to alleviate any associated body appearance issues. However, she was spotted boating with CNN’s Don Lemon in the Hamptons. She looked fine and appeared to be in good health, according to the U.K.’s tabloid “The Sun.”

Williams had expressed displeasure toward her Staff, according to “The Sun,” unlike other talk show hosts, she does not like working from home and generally prefers the studio.

“The Sun” also tried to make Williams’ sudden desire to take a break seem more salacious by implying that she could be relapsing from her old drug addiction, and pointed out that fans noticed she was slurring her words.  The article also implies that her reason for leaving regarding health reasons may not be true if she is boating in the Hamptons.

This gossipy accusation contradicts the other claim that she is healthy and happy boating with Lemon.

She has previously taken time off during the COVID-19 pandemic to recover from her thyroid disorders.

Williams posted a Video on Instagram stating that she is taking a hiatus until she can get back to the studio, but will not offer an explanation:

Hi it’s me from home and hopefully for not too long. You know what I’m waiting for? I’m waiting for the state of New York to say that we as a show can go back. We got 200 people in our audience, we’ll never have that again. But, I want to go back to do our show. Nothing makes me happier than being Wendy on the Wendy Show. I’ve got the love and the boyfriends and all that other kinds of stuff. I’m in my house, but what I want the most is to be with you. I miss you a lot.

Another speculative potential reason is that Williams needs time off to recover from her divorce with Kevin Hunter until her studio reopens. It was a very notable observation for viewers that she was discussing other celebrities’ personal lives and divorces on her program, but keeping quiet regarding her own.

According to PageSix, both are foregoing alimony. Instead, they will sell their New Jersey home and share the proceeds.

Selling her home could be another obvious reason why she wants to halt episodes until she can get back to the official New York studio location. How can one make episodes if they do not have a place to film from and without interfering too much into her personal life?

Although, Williams still does have a home in Florida which she will keep. The divorce was filed over a year ago, however, it has taken this long to finalize everything and work out the agreements.
