Reddit member, thesbros, developed a website that matches the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 Galaxy S8, S8+, and Galaxy Note with the correct Samsung firmware. Samsung Galaxy owners can type in their phone’s model number and download the most recent update.

Once the update is downloaded, it can be sideloaded via the Android Debug Bridge (ADB) or installed from the phone’s recovery. The firmware is signed by Samsung, so it should not trip the security platform, KNOX.
The downloads come directly from AT&T, therefore, they are safe.

Only official updated can be installed on phones with a locked bootloader. This should give users peace of mind.

The update tool is only for Snapdragon variants of the Galaxy S8, S8+, and Galaxy Note 8. Unlocked models are supported and there are Oreo beta releases, however, users of the Exynos variants are out of luck, at this time.

Samsung has started to order the components for the upcoming Galaxy S9 series that is expected to be released in February 2018. The Galaxy S9+ will reportedly come with a dual camera.

According to the report, the front camera of the Galaxy S9 is being developed by Partron and Power Logics is working on the front camera of the Galaxy S9+. ETNews reported that the Galaxy S9+ will have a separate iris scanner and front camera.

Two websites that sell smartphone cases revealed that the Galaxy S9+ will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, and it will have 6GB of RAM.

Samsung will also be adopting SLP (Substance Like PCB) circuit boards. These circuit boards allow for chips to be stacked together. They take up less room leaving space for larger batteries and other components. The new circuit-board technology will connect the flash memory, DRAM, and the application processor.

Apple, Inc. used a similar technology in the iPhone X to make room for the larger-capacity L-shaped battery.
