The FDA website commends the recall. Furthermore, the website states the company is acting out of extreme care and concern for its customers.

The packages involved are the only ones known to be affected, and the consumption of uncooked flour is not to be considered as a ready-to-eat product, said Murphy. He continued to give awareness that anything made with it must be cooked.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said salmonella affects nearly 1.2 million Americans a year. Symptoms of an infected person typically begin within 12-72 hours. The effects of which are vomiting, nausea, diarrhea, and stomach aches. Some sufferers of salmonella get diarrhea extreme enough for hospitalization. The elderly, infants and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to have a severe illness.
