Moore

Former “Criminal Minds” regular, Shemar Moore is the star of the new program “S.W.A.T.” The new CBS program will premiere on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, at 10:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT.

“S.W.A.T.” is inspired by the 2003 movie of the same name, which, in turn, was based on the 1975-76 TV series. Moore portrays ex-Marine Daniel ‘Hondo’ Harrelson, the character that Steve Forrest played in the original.

Due to technological advancements, the 2017 version will have better pyrotechnics, vehicle action, harsher language, and graphic crime scenes, than the 70s version. Moreover, interpersonal relationships will take on a modern perspective.

Hondo is a homegrown Los Angelite with a persona that is equally street as it is police lieutenant. This loyalty to both is surely going to be entertaining.

His facial hair is a nice addition to his sculpted profile. In one of the preview’s scenes, Moore is in bed with a pretty woman and his body is strategically covered displaying his lean body.

Moore’s S.W.A.T. Co-Stars

Moore is part of an elite group of specially trained officers who make up the Special Weapons And Tactics team. He is joined by:

  • Kenny Johnson – Dominique Luca
  • David Lim – Victor Tan
  • Stephanie Sigman – Jessica Cortez
  • Peter Onorati – Mumford
  • Lina Esco – Christina “Chris” Alonso
  • Jay Harrington – David “Deacon” Kay
  • Alex Russell – Jim Street

The department head is Cortez, Los Angeles Metro Captain, even though she is a job-first kind of boss, she and Hondo are illicitly involved.

“Tan has a nose for action and a willingness to place a bet on anything. He uses his confidential informants in the community to help Hondo and the rest of their team capture the city’s toughest criminals,” according to CBS. Another team member, Street, is described as a self-assured team newbie.

Morris’ unit members include Alonso, the team’s K-9 trainer; Kay, an experienced S.W.A.T. officer; and Luca, a top-notch driver.

Moore’s Fans Love Him

MooreFans of “Criminal Minds” were treated to a guest appearance by Moore on Oct. 12. He has been missed since his seemingly abrupt departure in March 2016, after 11 years. Below are Facebook posts from fans.

Kim Davio:

So can’t wait 2 see u on S.W.A.T.. still miss u on criminal minds.. just glad 2 see u back on tv.. lots of ??? for ya.. if ur ever in Michigan gi’ve a girl a hollar.. ?2meet u.

Mike Bardunias:

I think you are a fabulous actor and i think you will “become” this new character. I am really looking forward to your new series.

Roberta Hicks:

The short clips I’ve seen look great…no surprise, Shemar is an excellent actor and a kind hearted man… Love him…

Fans were disappointed when Moore left “Criminal Minds.” However, his move to “S.W.A.T.” was lateral. Not only is he still with CBS, but he is still in law enforcement. Furthermore, he went from wearing plain-clothes to a uniform. When he is in the body armor it exemplifies his persona as a clad-in-black-tough-guy. Fans are sure to enjoy watching Hondo as he leads the dedicated unit all of whom “bravely put themselves at risk to protect their community and save lives.”
