Henry Ruggs III the former NFL star is being charged with D.U.I. plus four other felony charges on Wednesday for being involved in a crash that left a woman dead. He did not appear for his first court date in Las Vegas Justice Court. Before the recent changes, he was only charged with two counts of driving under the influence causing death or bodily harm, and two counts of reckless driving, in Nevada which is approached as a felony charge.

Wolfson, the Clark County district attorney added additional charges after the hearing because the passenger of the former football player was his girlfriend Kiara Washington, who was left injured. The former NFL player faces two to twenty years in the penitentiary for each count of D.U.I. plus a fine. For each count of reckless driving, he is facing one to six years in the penitentiary and also a fine. If he is convicted with the steady evidence they have against him will be sentenced and sent to prison with no chance of probation.

Ruggs was also charged with possession of a firearm while under influence of alcohol or a controlled substance. This is a misdemeanor so it can be punishable by six months or a $1,000 fine for both counts. His lawyers did not take any questions after the hearing but he tried to persuade them not to judge him but to let them do their job for the client they are representing.

On November 2 at 3:40 a.m. (PT) Rugg’s sports car crashed into the SUV. The fire department was called to the scene of the crime. Tina Tintor was found dead at the arrival of the officers. Alongside her was also her dog who was also pronounced dead at the scene. Ruggs was approximately driving 156 miles per hour, according to the district attorney. His blood-alcohol level passed Nevada’s legal limit as of November 2 Ruggs is no longer a member of the Raiders.
