A COVID-19 scare will not prevent the Green Bay Packers and the San Fransisco 49ers from entering into battle Thursday Night, Nov. 5, 2020.
Packers’ Inactive Players
The Packers running back AJ Dillon will not play tonight because he tested positive. Running back Jamaal Williams and linebacker Kamal Martin will not play tonight because they were deemed high-risk close contacts of Dillon.
As for the 49ers, wide receiver Kendrick Bourne will not play because of positive test results. 49ers’ left tackle Trent Williams, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, and Deebo Samuel have been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list due to close contacts. Samuel was already missing tonight’s game because of a hamstring injury.
NFL Network Ian Rapoport stated:
The NFL has cleared the 49ers and Packers for tonight’s game. That would mean neither side had a positive test result this morning.
Keep in mind that the incubation period for players on both teams has not expired. Some might say that both teams may have more positive test results. Either way, Monday Night Football will be played tonight at 8:20 p.m. ET from Levi’s Stadium.
Scott Grodsky Sports Anchor at @CBS58 covering the Packers tweet:
Now that Kendrick Bourne is out the 49ers will not have a single offensive player who touched the ball in the NFC Championship Game on the field tomorrow.
49ers’ Inactive Players
49er players that will be held out of tonight’s game are; Jimmy Garoppolo (injured), Raheem Mostert (injured), Deebo Samuel (injured), Tevin Coleman (injured), Matt Breida (traded), George Kittle (injured), Kendrick Bourne (COVID-19 reserve) and Emmanuel Sanders (signed with Saints).
Green Bay has been listed as a seven-point favorite in tonight’s game.
