Charles Dutoit left as music director of the Orchestre Symphonique De Montreal in 2002. However, the Executive Committee of the Orchestre Symphonique De Montreal decided, on Dec. 23, 2017, to investigate sexual harassment within the organization.

The investigation is motivated by a complaint received the day before.

A third party will be conducting the investigation to establish the relevant facts, such as meeting with the person who registered the complaint and with anyone else who may come forward, give the necessary support for anyone who may need it, and to make recommendations to the Executive Committee on how to move forward to prevent such misconduct.

The Orchestre Symphonique De Montreal is determined to intensify the “unconditional commitment to respect the dignity and fundamental rights of its musicians and employees.” The bar is set at zero tolerance.
The Orchestre Symphonique De Montreal wants to assure musicians and employees of the compassion of the organization and unwavering support to achieve the above objectives.
