Opera Singer Robert Magyar Brings Down the House at the G Salvatore Fashion Showcase [Video]

MagyarOpera singer Robert Magyar has sung with many opera greats. At the G Salvatore Fashion Showcase, an event filled with people half his age who are into trap music, he sang a song by Frank Sinatra and brought the house down.

Magyar began singing in primary school with the internationally acknowledged choir Tóth Lajos Általános Iskola before he went on to sing with the likes of Luciano Pavarotti, Plácido Domingo, Yevgeny Nesterenko, Elena Obraztsova, and Éva Marton. However, he did not expect his music to have such an impact at the G Salvatore Fashion Showcase. This was his first performance in the U.K.

Was Magyar surprised by the reaction to his performance at the G Salvatore Fashion Showcase?

Yes and No. I know the power of good music, good singing, god vibrations in music will reach even the coldest heart. I did not expect the response I got because everything was new for me. This type of audience, this type of venue and even was new for me, so I did not know what to expect, but I believed in Stevie [Eagle E] when he told me not to worry about the audience to just do what I do. He told me the only one that needs to like it is him {Laughing].

Magyar is a trained opera singer. Why did he decide to sing Frank Sinatra’s “My Way?”

Maybe I was wrong in thinking this, but I thought opera might be a bit too much for this audience or event. I think I was wrong, but in the end, I had a good effect on people, so I am happy. I spoke to Stevie [Eagle E] just before I went on, I asked him should I sing ‘My Way’ or Elvis, Stevie told me that Elvis was a favorite of his father, so I was going to sing Elvis, but he said, sing ‘My Way.’ So, in the last seconds I told the guys, play ‘My Way’ and it worked out very well.

He has performed all over the world with many great singers and choirs. How did he rate the G Salvatore Fashion Showcase?

First, I want to say that I love to sing. I love what I do. I am passionate about it, so every event for me is great no matter where it is or who I am singing to. I felt very at home with this event and I hope that Stevie [Eagle E] will invite me again. I met some fantastic artists like Beate Jacobsen, Stephan Dante, Prince Bayo, and Marcellina. I made some good friends and I even had enough time to record something with some of the artists, but I cannot say too much right now. This event had many type of musical styles. It was very different from many events I perform at with one style, one vibe, one type of thing. There were many different styles at this event, it was a ‘music lovers’ dream and then all the beautiful women and fashion. It was very special. I hope to do something like this again.

Stevie Eagle E is hoping to have Magyar back in the U.K. again soon.
