Ogechi Onyewuchi is a journalist for The News School and a rising senior at Providence St. Mel High School, located in East Garfield Park, Chicago, Illinois. Hailing from Imo State, Nigeria, she has been heavily influenced by her culture from a young age and loves to apply it to everything she does.
From editing videos to songwriting, she enjoys bringing a new perspective to audiences young and old. Her experience schooling in Nigeria during her sophomore year heightened her communication skills and her viewpoints on social, economic, and political ideas.
By joining the News School, she hopes to gain skills in writing and story-telling that will aid her future career in business and bioinformatics. She is also excited to write about her community and develop interpersonal skills from working with students like herself.
