My name is Navaeh Merkson. I am 17 years old and from Chicago, IL. I have been living in Chicago my whole life and am currently a junior at Collins Academy High School.
I’m a student-athlete and make music in school. I have been playing piano since I was in the eighth grade. I am a member of the band and choir at Collins Academy, and I play piano in both groups.
My teacher is Mr. Pheloan and he has been teaching me since 10th grade. I started making music when I was a freshman in high school in the studio at Collins Academy.
Cooking is my favorite thing to do in my free time, my favorite dish to make is chicken alfredo. I am a very determined person, and I love challenges. Hardworking is my middle name.
Hard Work and Getting It Done
When it comes to working and getting it done, I make it my first priority. I am a very hard worker and I like to get the job done. I’m very determined and that’s what makes me stand out from everyone else. I believe in the saying “the harder you work, the luckier you get” because it has helped me achieve many things in life.
When it comes to working on projects, I make sure they are done right before handing them over to my teacher so he or she knows they are not just rushing through them.
I am a very ambitious person, and I like to set goals for myself. My favorite subject in school is math because it is easy for me. I have a strong faith in God, and I serve him at all times. Additionally, I love going to church and learning new things, and getting lessons on life. I am a very outgoing person and I love being around people. I also like to be on my own sometimes and just relax after school. Overall I’m a cool person to be around and work with.
