Taylor

Maria Taylor, an ESPN analyst, was sideline reporting at her first NFL Monday Night Football Game on Sept. 14, 2020. As ESPN’s swiss army knife, Taylor covered college and pro sports on the sideline and as a host, providing terrific commentary and doing interviews.

Critical Comments

Dan McNeil, a host on 670 The Score radio in Chicago, tweeted a misogynistic criticism of the outfit she wore during the game, asking if she was a host for an adult entertainment award show.

She tweeted, Well, Danny Dearest if you would like to continue making sexist comments about me…please bring your misogyny with you to the NBA Countdown doubleheader I’ll be hosting tomorrow night. Hey, ladies, remember you can wear whatever you feel confident in! @670TheScore @DannyMac670.

Apology

Recently-fired Dan McNeil took to Twitter to apologize for Taylor’s Monday Night Football outfit’s inappropriate comments. In his apology to Taylor, McNeil said he was trying to make a joke but admitted that it fell on its face.

Vancouver news anchor Kori Sidaway wore a simple white blouse on a broadcast. Afterward, she got an email from a viewer criticizing her outfit and signing his comments from the “Vancouver Cleavage Patrol.”

It is apparent that since Trump has been in office, the good ole’ boys have come out of hiding to make their “moral fashion” beliefs know. These guys did not feel that their comments were wrong, maybe just outdated.
