Lady Gaga Beyond the Artist

Lady Gaga was born on March 28, 1986, in New York City. She is an American musical artist who’s known for her unconventionality and proactive bodies of work.

As a teen, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta performed in school plays and open mic nights. She studied at Collaborative Arts Project 21. This was in conjunction with New York University’s College of Arts & Science. The young singer also studied at Tisch School of the Arts.

Later, withdrawing from school, she perused a music career with Def Jam Recordings.

The artist worked for Sony/ATV Music Publishing as a songwriter, after her contract with Def Jam terminated. Interscope Records and KanLive. In 2007, she signed a joint deal with the label.

In 2008, Lady Gaga rose to prominence with her debut album “The Fame Monster.” “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” and “The Fame” are some her first global chart-topping singles. That said, “Bad Romance” and “Telephone” also proved to be successful.

She collaborated with many different producers. Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” released in 2011 as her second full-length album. Its title track was the fastest selling song on iTunes during its reign. Over one million copies sold during its first week. Germanotta explored electronic rock and techno-pop with her “Born This Way” album.

She experimented with a track entitled EDM. Her third album titled Artpop was number one in 2013.

Lady Gaga collaborated with Tony Bennett for a jazz album called “Check to Check.” Her fifth studio album influenced soft rock with her track titled “Joanne.”

She took acting on by storm, capturing leading roles in “American Horror Story Hotel” and, in 2018, “A Star is Born.”

Lady Gaga was the only woman to achieve five number one albums in 2010. The soundtrack’s single, “Shallow” was nominated in several countries for numerous awards.

By January 2016, she had already sold 146 million singles and 27 million albums. Lady Gaga is one of the best selling music artists in history.

Her achievements include Billboard’s Artist of the Year and Songwriters Hall of Fame awards. Her Guinness World Records include six Grammy’s and three Brit Awards. She is listed in Forbes power and earnings ranking. Lady Gaga is also number four on VH1’s Greatest Woman in Music. The singer/actor finished second on Times poll of the most influential people.

She is known for her non-profit organization, the Born this way Foundation, whose focus is on promoting youth empowerment and stopping the act of bullying.

Being far from a lady of the past and still creating headlines like her new Iced Lilac hair color. Adding what may be yet another claim to fame as well as she has confirmed her engagement to boyfriend Christian Carino, The singer, by referring to him as her fiance at the Ella Magazine’s 25th annual women Celebration.

The singer closes the year adding one more title to her resume. According to Twitter, she is 2018 third most quoted text. She tweeted a string of numbers and capitalized letters that have been liked 329,000 times and retweeted 232,000 to date.

Lady Gaga the actor, musician, the activist is living what many would consider being the American dream.
