On July 25 and 26, 2020, Katy Perry is set to headline a virtual concert for the iconic Tomorrowland Festival with 60 other artists on the Tomorrowland Around the World and 8 different stages. The lineup of scheduled artists will include Adam Beyer, Afrojack, ANNA, David Guetta, Gryffin, Martin Garrix, San Holo, Steve Aoki, and Tiësto. The big Festival is usually in Boom, Belgium but this year they have decided to do it a little bit differently for 2020 due to the coronavirus outbreak. Tomorrowland will have 3D imaging on certain websites for viewers that like special effects. Katy’s set will have captivating visuals like lasers, fireworks, and bright vibrant colors when she performs her new songs from her album called Smile. The album will come out on August 14th. Smile, which became certified Gold with the single hits “Never Really Over” and “Harleys And Hawaii.” Even though Katy Perry is more of a Pop artist she has used an EDM in the past. An EDM is Electronic dance music, also known as dance music, club music, or simply dance, is a broad range of percussive electronic music genres made largely for nightclubs, raves, and festivals. Katy Perry has worked with zed on her EDM song “365.” Zed is a Russian- German DJ, record producer, and songwriter. He primarily produces and performs electro house music, but has diversified his genre and musical style, drawing influences from progressive house, dubstep, and classical music. She also has a song with Calvin Harris “Feels.”
This Festival or concert will be noteworthy and a must watch is because Katy Perry had announced that she is pregnant in March and is due to give birth this summer. Perry had said in a statement that “I’ve always wanted to be a part of the fun of Tomorrowland, and have been following the amazing innovation, technology, and invention that this festival has always been about for a long time.” Perry also said in a statement that she was happy to get a part of this virtual concert “I’m so glad to be a part of this version, and I hope my set makes you smile.” The co-founder of Tomorrowland believes that the virtual Festival will do just as good or even better than being there in person. “Since we started this project and all the ideas came together, we immediately felt enormous energy and lots of positivity from everybody involved. For us, it’s a bit re-inventing the festival experience, but we truly believe that we can bring the spirit of Tomorrowland and entertainment at the highest level to people and homes around the globe.” Usually, when they have the concert they sell out within minutes with millions of people trying to buy tickets every year. Now that it is a virtual concert almost everyone will be able to see the amazing concert by having the luxury of being at home and enjoying the show with their family and friends. Plus the concert will be a lot cheaper for the viewers.
