Presumptive Democratic Presidental candidate Joe Biden promises he will not embarrass Americans when he becomes the Commander-in-Chief. His emboldened confidence stems from polling higher than Donald Trump.
On July 31, 2020, on the eve of announcing his ticket mate, Biden used Twitter to make this promise:
You won’t have to worry about my tweets when I’m president.
If he had added the words, unlike Trump, it would not be a falsehood. However, Biden has adopted a grandfatherly-type candidate who everyone trusts. His tweet was reassuring and those reading it inferred the unsaid implication.
The tweet also reminds his base of the differences between his and Trump’s Twitter feeds.
Since he holds 2,627 delegates — well over the 1,991 required — it is a given Biden will accept the nomination during the Democratic Convention mid-August. As the official presidential candidate, he will go head-to-head against President Trump in a battle for the health and welfare of America’s future.
Not that Biden is not already the target of a horrific advertising campaign disparaging his character. He has and will be subjected to vicious attacks from the Republican National Committee, Trump-supporting PACS, and Trump himself.
One ad depicts an elderly white woman whose home is about to be invaded. She dials 911 and it continues to ring without being answered until the end of the ad. The voiceover says, “You won’t be safe in Joe Biden’s America.” Trump’s depiction of Biden’s America is based on his typical fear-mongering liar’s rhetoric.
Conversely, the former vice-president’s addresses facts. He confronts Trump’s inept handling of COVID-19 and his seemingly uncaring attitude toward the American people.
The advertisements reveal the difference between how the two handle themselves. Every time Trump lies, the world laughs. But no more, the Democrats want Joseph Robinette Biden to replace Donald J. Trump in the Oval Office. No more embarrassment, no more hatred, no more decisiveness.
