Jameisha Artis is a junior in college, and she attends The University of Illinois at Chicago. Jameisha declared her major as graphic design during her sophomore year of college. She gained an interest in graphic design because of her high school class called, “Digital Media.” After three years of taking the class, she decided that design was the career for her.
This summer she is interning at “The News School” that is located in the Chicago area. This internship was presented to her by her OSC (One Summer Chicago) coach and Jameisha Artis was interested in trying something new to expand her skills.
After learning about how Journalism can help herself and others, as well with the use of the internet and social media, journalism became even more appealing to her. While working at The News School she hopes to become a better writer, reader, and problem-solver. This internship allows her to write articles about different topics like Breaking News, Entertainment, Sports, and many more, and one of her articles will be featured in the fourth volume of “Windy Chicago Highlights.”
