On Nov. 3, 2017, Apple Inc. released its new iOS 11.2 beta 2 update for iPhone. Many customers who have the new software have complained that their iPhone’s backup data will not load and carry over onto the phone, when they upgrade to an iPhone X. Apple also released this new mobile device the same day as the update. Consumers were able to pre-order it, on Oct 27. This is the 18th mobile device that Apple has created and released since its very first iPhone, in 2007.

Apple’s new update has caused users to have trouble and errors activating their phones. The majority of the reports came from user, who purchased an iPhone X from AT&T or Verizon. Some customers shared that they had to reboot the device over and over again, in hopes that the activation process would proceed and let them set up the phone. The iOS 11.2 beta 2 update was not originally released for the iPhone X, therefore, customers who purchased it could not downgrade and upload their backup data.

This is not the first time Apple has had bugs within its software updates. Past versions, such as iOS 10, had many software bugs and malfunctions. There were issues that affected the lock screen, apps, icloud, the battery, and other parts of the phone. iOS 10 even caused issues with the iPad. Apple did eventually patch the updates. They also are working to make a patch for the iOS 11.2 beta 2 update before the finalized software is released.

On the bright side, Apple has released something new called, Apple Pay. It is a new way for users to send and receive money through iMessage. Users will have to go into the settings and turn on Apple Pay. Then open up a conversation, tap the iMessage app store icon and press the plus or minus button. Tap request or pay and preview the payment or request before sending.
