Georgia Bulldogs Narrowly Win the 104th Rose Bowl

The Tournament of Roses celebration finale is the Rose Bowl game. On January 1, 2018, No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners (OKA) and No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs (UGA) football teams met for a semi-final game.

The Bulldogs narrowly won the 104th Rose Bowl, 54-48, in two overtime periods. The game scores:

  1. First quarter: OKA 14 – UGA 7
  2. Second quarter: OKA 17 – UGA 10
  3. Third quarter: OKA 0 – UGA 14
  4. Fourth quarter: OKA 14 – UGA 14
  5. First Overtime: OKA 3 – UGA 3
  6. Second Overtime: OKA 0 – UKA 6

Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl Hall of Fame

Earlier in the day, the Rose Bowl attracted thousands along its route. Gary Sinise was the presiding grand Marshal of the 2018 Tournament of Roses Parade. Todrick Hall’s performance launched the start of the parade. The finale was performed by Andy Grammer.

Four men gained the significant distinction of being inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame. The ceremony and luncheon were held on January 1 in Lot K. The honorees are Mack Brown, Cade McNown, Dr. Charles West, and Charles Woodson.

Rose Bowl Fun Facts

The stadium construction was completed in 1922, with a capacity of 57,000. On October 28, 1922, California State Los Angeles (Cal) Golden Bears trounced University of Southern California (USC) Trojans, 12-0.

Today, the stadium capacity is 92,542, making it the sixth largest in the world, according to Business Insider.
