As the pandemic continues, the US Environmental Protection Agency(EPA) approves two cleaning products. The products Lysol Disinfectant Spray and Mist have been approved for cleaning surfaces. According to CNN, “The news comes one month after a CDC survey found that people said they were cleaning more frequently because of the pandemic”(Lee and Crespo). The same survey highlights that only half of the participants knew which products to use. Lysol is actively working to make sure their products are efficient.

During the fight against the Coronavirus, it is important to use the correct cleaning products to avoid contracting or spreading it. Considering that people come into contact with surfaces very frequently, and leave behind germs, it’s important to clean them. EPA noted that while there are other products useful against the virus, the products approved are the only ones tested directly. In fact, Lysol is using its platform to educate the public on proper hygiene. And recommends that people wear gloves or other protective gear when cleaning.

Additionally, CNN reports that “The Lysol disinfectant spray and mist are to be used on hard, non-porous surfaces”(Lee and Crespo). This means that they are to be used on surfaces made of glass, wood, etc. In other words, clean surfaces cautiously with Lysol if and when possible, especially after eating.
