Decade

My life over the next decade will be nothing short of spectacular. I know this because I have a plan, and I believe in my dreams. My plan is simple yet complicated; creative, but also unoriginal; both flexible and concrete. In the next phase of my life, I plan to be successful and live in the moment, no matter what avenue I’m in or where the road takes me. That’s it. And no, being successful doesn’t mean what my parents want, nor does it mean what society deems as “success.” Only I can define what success means to me; living in this world for almost 2 decades has at least taught me that much.

So, what exactly would my version of success look like? How exactly would I be “living in the moment”? To be honest with you, I wish it were as simple as a location or occupation. I’ve seen so many people who believe true success is planning out your life down to the little, insignificant nothings. Going to college. Falling in love. Buying your first home. If I’m being honest, I don’t know what I’ll prioritize a decade in the future. All I can say for sure is that God has blessed me with talents in numerous fields, and I want to continue exploring and sharing these gifts with the world.

My success will come from coding AI technology for Epidemiology tracing, creating a welcoming community on social media, making music that inspires others, and even writing professional journal entries like these. Whatever gift I use, whatever avenue I choose to create change, my success will always be my own. I will live in the moment and relish my accomplishments. Of course, I’ll have good days and hard times, but that’s all I could ever ask for. After all, that’s what your 20’s are for. Becoming the success story you know you’re destined to be. That’s my future.
