Former finalist of “Project Runway” and the star of the “Mad Fashion” Bravo TV series, Chris March has died, according to a source for EW. March was 56 years old.

TMZ reported that the fashion designer died on Sept. 5, 2019, from a heart attack. He had been struggling with several medical issues since he had an accident in his home in 2017.

Bravo’s Andy Cohen posted a picture of March from when he appeared on “Watch What Happens Live!” The photo was captioned: “This is how I’m going to remember Chris March, dressed as Lisa Vanderpump as I wear a Giggy costume he made for one of our first Halloween specials. He had a big booming laugh; he was a joy and delight.”

A Bravo spokesperson emailed EW and wrote: “We are deeply saddened by the news of Chris March’s passing. He was a favorite among Bravo fans and the fashion community. Our condolences go out to his family and friends. He will truly be missed.”

In June 2017, the fashion designer fell in his home that resulted in a coma and other medical issues. He lay on the floor unconscious for four days. He survived the fall, however, a number of his organs failed. He suffers from paralysis in multiple limbs.

In March 2019, he updated his condition on his GoFundMe page set up to help with the financial burden of consistent medical treatment.

“I have recently run into several setbacks in my recovery, the biggest one being that my medical insurance went up over 500 percent at the beginning of 2019. I am also in need of leg braces, specialized physical therapy, a hearing aid, and a new living arrangement. Where I am now is unbearable and makes me anxious and depressed every day. I have considered suicide many times. I have tried my best to make strides. There is a long road of physical therapy ahead of me.”

It was Season 4 of “Project Runway” that March famously used human hair in his couture pieces. After the reality competition show, he went on to design clothes for Prince, Madonna, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter, Cirque du Soleil, and Meryl Streep.

He created and starred in “Mad Fashion,” in 2011. The show followed his designs and celebrity clientele for 10 episodes. Additionally, March appeared on Season 4 of “Project Runway All-Stars.” It aired in 2015.
