On Tuesday, July 15, 2020, Chicago Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker announced that if the Corona Virus rates go back up and spike then he will not hesitate to shut the city back down and bring all of the previous regulations and put them back in place to slow the pace down of the deadly Corona Virus. And if necessary he announced that he will shut indoor bars and restaurants down if the health officials require it. Mayor Lightfoot, Chicago Mayor said something similar about closing restaurants. Lightfoot had said that she is not taking anything off the table and will try to do whatever she can to keep the rates down. Pritzker also added that “My concern, again, is all about the health and safety of the people of the state of Illinois.” Pritzker also said in a statement that “We’re watching these numbers very closely. we’ve been very measured about how we’ve reopened our state, and there are many people that complain that where we are now isn’t open enough.”  Before Sunday Illinois reported that at least 1,000 more cases of the Corona Virus and that it might only get worse. Marking the first time the state has had three straight days of eclipsing that plateau since late May.
