On Wednesday, July 18, 2018, Chance The Rapper dropped four new singles: “Work Out,” “Wala Cam,” “65th and Ingleside” and “I Might Need Security.” all of which was available on all streaming services. These songs were spontaneous and were not rolled out as singles are usually released with a big announcement and a drop date.

“I Might Need Security,” focuses on how he is the new owner of the Chicagoist that covers Windy City news, events, and music. The song captures how he sees himself as a key leader in the community. He says, the people of Chicago call him their advocate and trust him.

The rapper also writes about the mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel. In the song, he says that Emanuel should resign and there should be an investigation on the cops that were given paid suspensions that kill unarmed black kids. Chance the rapper believes that the $95 million going into the police academy should be going to programs that serve the community in better ways, like giving money to the Chicago public schools.

Chance voiced this opinion about the ways of Rahm at a city council, but the mayor walked out of the meeting during Chance’s speech.
