California Governor Orders Agencies Review Contracts for Sanction Compliance Against Russia

Ukrainian runaways will be allowed in California with open arms. New orders were placed on Friday by Governor Gavin Newsom stating that California contractors and agencies have been told to look over their contracts for a guarantee that sanctions will be in compliance against Russia.

According to a press release given by the office of the governor, numerous companies based in California have already started to minimize economic transactions with Russia, send support to Ukraine, and fight back against misinformation given from Russia. All private businesses and other different agencies are being pushed to look over their contracts to make sure to comply with sanctions against Russia.

Governor Newsom said that Ukraine and the Ukrainian community in California have support from the state of California. The Ukrainian community in California is one of the largest in the United States. He also stated that their state shares lots of close ties with Ukraine and plans to continue its efforts to stand by Ukraine’s brave fight for freedom and the fundamental rights of its citizens.

Refugees from Ukraine who are running from the fight in their country are going to be welcomed in California. The state will be continuing to support Ukrainian military training, humanitarian aid, and equipment, according to the release.

The release also states that in the last 20 years, the California Emergency Medical Services Authority, the National Guard, and the Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, has trained and performed exercises with the Ministry of Defense in Ukraine as well as the Armed Forces in regards to using Emergency Management and Incident Command System.
