Amazon announced the narrowed list of cities being considered for the location of its second headquarters. The following is the list of 20 cities that made the cut:
• Atlanta
• Austin
• Boston
• Chicago
• Columbus
• Dallas
• Denver
• Indianapolis
• Los Angeles
• Miami
• Montgomery County
• Nashville
• Newark
• New Nork City
• Philadelphia
• Pittsburgh
• Raleigh
• Toronto
• Washington D.C.

The 20 finalists were announced, on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018. The city that is chosen for the location of Amazon’s second headquarters will secure 50,000 jobs and $5 billion will be invested into the winning city.

Over 200 cities submitted proposals to Amazon, one even offered to change its name to Amazon if chosen. That city did not make the cut for the top 20.

Amazon will be looking closer at the 20 cities and asking questions to determine the best possible location for its second headquarters.

The retail giant has not confirmed when it will make the final decision, but has said it will be in 2018.
