Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. These streets are the roots that planted me into who I am today. A big impact on who I am was the passing of my mother. She died when I was only seven years old. Growing up without your mother in your life is hard.

The challenge of trying to navigate and understand life after was rather hard, but I still had my dad and my brother. Some months, later I found out about aunts and uncles, and other family members. These events caused me to leave the South and come to the West Side of Chicago, where for the first time I had to experience a new environment, and friends, and get used to having a bigger family than I did before.

So, I had to adjust to my circumstances, although it was hard it wasn’t impossible. I was able to get through middle school and now I’m almost done with Highschool.

Looking back on my upbringing I am very humble, that it will forever impact me. My goal in life is to be able to give back and make a change. As well as that it would make me able to give back to my environment, growing up I was taught to try to be the change to see in the world.

The more effective you are at spreading the positivity about the change, the quicker you get to see it happen. So, as a teen, I take the chances I can, such as volunteering at food pantries and working at summer camps with young children.

Another goal is to get homeless people off the streets, which stems from a small part of my childhood when I myself was homeless and living in a shelter. If I can make it possible so that other people won’t have to go through what I have, it would be a miracle.
