Pittsburgh Fire Forces Residents From Their Homes

Pittsburgh

During a late-night fire on Saturday night, six people were forced from their homes. The fire was reported taking place in Orchard Place at 9 p.m on July 27, 2020.

Despite firefighters arriving on the scene and getting the fire under control the resulting damage from the fire made the damage homes unstable. The people who lived in the affected homes were not able to return and instead were helped by the Red Cross in their time of need.

The citizen’s homes are located in the Pittsburgh Knoxville neighborhood and were unsafe to return due to the fire. Red Cross is providing emergency shelter assistance for the displaced residents in order to get them back on their feet.

Similar fires have been reported in Pittsburgh last week, one taking place on State Highway 4. The immediate cause of the fire was also unknown but it was fueled by burning dry grass and debris on the side of the highway.

The eastbound lanes had to be closed due to the spreading flames.

Reports showed that no one was hurt during the fire’s outbreak.

The cause of the fire is unknown and currently under investigation.
